56 Main Archive Vault

The main keeper archives are stored  under the mountain, fifteen levels down from the ground floor. I felt like asking keeper Melissa if there was any reason for placing the main archives so deep within the ground. But I knew better. She doesn't talk much and she definitely does not answer many questions.

As we left the elevator, keeper Melissa told me that I would be spending the rest of my assignment here in level fifteen. I would be assigned to assist another keeper named Rebbecca.

Looking around I saw a gigantic underground cave that extended as far as the eye could see. The entire cave was covered with what looked like giant stalagmites sticking out of the floor. There were dull yellow lights radiating from within the giant stalagmites. The yellow lights seemed to flicker deep inside the stone and made the stalagmites look like giant jewel crystals glowing in the dark cave.

Keeper Melissa saw me staring at the giant stalagmites and said, "They are called quantum memory cells. These memory cells you see here contain the entire history of the known universe."

I think I heard myself say, wow!
